Life Works Development Services is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and offers educational, self-development (personal development, self improvement), and corporate support services which are grounded in psychology. Educational services are defined as those which provide information and facts based on history, philosophy, scientific theories, publications, and/or research reports, including information which is currently subject to scientific/theoretical debate or criticism. Self-development is defined as an experience which may involve any of the following: learning new information, learning new skills and tools for application in daily life, gaining greater awareness of one's environment or components of said environment, and/or gaining greater awareness of one's capabilities and potentialities. Self-development is facilitated by means of providing new information, asking thought-provoking questions, stimulating group discussions, and/or guiding participants through hands-on activities and tasks, such as responding to questions, creating art, writing, and observing one's environment. All services are grounded in psychology, in so much that they include information and activities which involve a psychological focus, are interpreted from a psychological perspective, or are based on psychological theory and research. Psychology is more broadly defined by Life Works as the science of human behaviour and encompasses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual facets of life.
